Hi neighbors!
I moved to Emeryville in 2021 and joined the board of directors for the HOA in August 2023. It’s been a lot of mostly thankless work, as I expected, but it’s been rewarding too. Interviewing several candidates before selecting our (excellent) GM Daisy. Establishing the Landscape Committee with my co-chair (who I won’t name here for privacy reasons). Proposing and helping to manage the interior improvement projects for our paint, carpeting, and other building matters. Assisting the board in prioritization and efficiency for settling long debates in closes sessions. I feel I’ve helped make a difference here.
My priorities have always been:
- Improving the experience and safety of living at Bridgewater for all residents: Renters and Owners.
- Responsibly managing the property by establishing sustainable habits for maintenance and modernization as needed.
- Treating our staff fairly, while expecting excellent performance in their duties.
- Making my voice heard in matters where I feel I’m an expert: design, technology, social science, project management, and dogs.
- Elevating others’ voices when I’m not the expert.
- Balancing investments into the property that will sustain its value against their costs.
If you feel I’ve done a good enough job so far, I will serve another term. I appreciate your support and will continue to assist the community regardless of who’s in all the meetings. We have a really strong team right now and I’d be happy to keep working with them.
