Corry for Emeryville City Council

Corry Frydlewicz smiling at Christie Park in Emeryville

Hi neighbor!

Thanks for your attention. My name is Corry Frydlewicz, I’ve lived in Emeryville since 2021, and I love it here. I’m running for city council.

I’ll get straight to the point.

My Priorities

  • Protecting Emeryville residents from those who’d harm, oppress, or exploit us — whether that’s crime, fascists like ICE, con artists, or giant corporations.
  • Building affordable housing, supporting tenants, and sharing access to resources for people who want to own a home here.
  • Supporting small local businesses with concrete action to help them compete with big chains.
  • Continuing to build accessible infrastructure for pedestrians, cyclists, older, and disabled residents.
  • Enabling productive and cooperative council proceedings so we can avoid giving excessive time and energy to drama and focus on getting things done.

About Corry

Today, U.S. politics are a nightmare I’ve been warning people about for most of my life. I can no longer fight solely as a keyboard warrior, volunteer, and single face in the crowd at protests. My skills and experience can be put to better use in official public service.

News & Updates

(coming soon) I’m currently preparing for the filing deadline in July 2026, so the news is mostly unexciting stuff like research, refining my messaging, and attempting to talk to as many locals as I can before I run out of extrovert energy. 😅

Donations

Do you think only rich people should be able to represent us?
I don’t.

I’m a broke-but-blessed Emeryvillain (not a typo). I get by only because of mutual aid. I do loads of unpaid labor for my family and community. I bet you do too. I want to fight for other broke folks who can’t afford to donate money they don’t have to try and get someone in public service to care about us and our issues.

I won’t spam you every time you see me, begging for donations. You won’t see glossy plastic yard signs with my face on them all over your neighborhood (and later in landfills). I will not advertise on television. I hope investing my time and skills in technology, management, leadership, communication, and compassion will be enough to earn your vote.

Perhaps it’s naive to think I can compete with well-funded candidates with commercials, billboards, and fundraising drives by doing things like chatting with you at the grocery store, responding to your emails in a timely manner, and offering up my entire identity to anyone who cares to see me. But it’s the only way I feel I can represent you, and not give disproportionate attention to donors.
