Korova Fifty-One Fifty Bar Review

Today I’m trying the Korova Fifty-One Fifty Bar. I’ve eaten Korova’s smaller baked goods before and the tagline “Unrivaled Potency” is definitely not an exaggeration. I made this purchase at Igzactly 420, my most common dispensary lately.
I’m being rather ambitious and giving myself an entire day to try out their second most powerful confection I’ve seen around. I don’t think I’ll ever even attempt Korova’s 20 Dose Black Bar.
The Taste
As soon as I opened the package, the dense pot smell hit me. The bar crumbled a little bit in shipping or when I lugged it home in my backpack, but it didn’t hurt the appearance much. I just had to dust my counter a little afterward.
I cut off roughly one third of the bar and took my first bite. It was intensely pot-tasting, and very dry. I had to immediately grab my chaser beverage and swish it around, just so I could swallow it.
It was awful. I looked upon the other half of the piece with dread. After a few moments of mental preparation, I grabbed my beverage and tried to down the other half fast as I could. During the [seemingly infinite] chewing process, I remember considering what the point of all the sugar and calories was if I ended up choking it down like an Aspirin anyway.
Intermission: Dosage
The package says that it has “10 doses” on it, which for some companies might mean 100 – 200mg of THC. Not to Korova. Each “dose” of a Korova edible has 50mg in it. This is something I wish I read closely BEFORE I took a little over 3 doses worth of the bar…
3 Doses normally equals 30-60mg, and my tolerance is usually around that mark lately. I took roughly 150mg this time.
I didn’t panic. Like I mentioned earlier, I set my entire day aside to do nothing but:
- Go to the mall w/ the wife in the morning
- Try the Korova Fifty-On Fifty Bar when I got home
- Play Wii U games w/ the wife
- Sleep restfully
Knowing that I did this dosage as a teenager on a fairly regular basis, I wasn’t too concerned. But doing it with an edible would be brand new to me. I got comfy in my La-Z-Boy, turned on the Wii U, and braced myself for impact.
The Feeling
I often forgot I was high during this time. I definitely WAS, but I didn’t get very foggy. I didn’t lose much of my attention span or get any other side effects. I just had pain relief, relaxation, and no anxiety for a very long time. I think it lasted around 8 hours before I felt sober again.
And don’t get me wrong, the potency was unquestionable. I lost all my back/neck pain within about 45 minutes and didn’t feel it again substantially until the next morning. An ideal result for my purposes.
I caught myself doing very stereotypical stoner things, which is unusual for me. During the course of the evening, I know that I loudly chuckled at someone on TV saying the word “butt” at least twice. I know that I slurred pretty profusely. I don’t think I’d want to attempt to pass for sober under those conditions.
UPDATE: Though my dosage was higher than normal for this particular sitting, I have since had a smaller dose and the feeling was very much the same. It didn’t last as long — clocking about 6 hours — but it was much the same otherwise.
The Verdict : Korova Fifty-One Fifty Bar
While the flavor isn’t very good, the effects are worth the initial discomfort. Korova prioritizes potency and it really shows in the Korova Fifty-One Fifty Bar. I’ll probably take smaller doses of it in the future, but at least this large bar will last me several more uses before I have to re-stock!
