🤔 Review: Mission Impossible 8: The Final Reckoning

I knew going in that this one was just gonna be a fun popcorn movie, but it was pretty bad. The first half of the movie is prevalently a supercut of the previous movies. The primary conflict of it is basically “stupid unethical people in positions of power get panicked by AI hype” and it basically stretches the ferry scene from Dark Knight out for three hours. All the while trying to make the stupid people debating what to do seem heroic instead of the most basic obvious human thing. It’s also full of ra-ra American supremacy propaganda about our disaster readiness and cybersecurity that’s laughable, especially these days. Not one surprise in the whole story. Wouldn’t recommend.
