Hi neighbor!
If you don’t yet know me, thanks for your attention. My name is Corry Frydlewicz, I’ve lived in Emeryville since 2021, and I love it here. I’m running for city council.
I respect your time, so I’ll get straight to the point.
My Priorities
- Protecting Emeryville residents from those who’d harm, oppress, or exploit us — whether that’s crime, fascists like ICE, con artists, or giant corporations.
- Building affordable housing, supporting our tenants, and getting people who want to own a home here access to resources they need.
- Supporting small local businesses.
- Continuing to build accessible infrastructure for pedestrians, cyclists, elderly, and disabled residents.
- Enabling productive and cooperative council proceedings so we can avoid giving excessive time and energy to drama and focus on getting things done.
About Corry
This is my first time running for public office. I’ve been a dishwasher, a server, a stocker, a game designer, a coder, and a laid-off team leader for an international clothing brand. Today, I’m a technology specialist for a local law firm who sues big tech companies, banks, and other corporate monsters on behalf of regular citizens like us. My career has been about flexibly being there for what my team needs and getting obstacles out of their way when they’re already on the right track.
Politically, I’m anti-authoritarian. My parents were both public school teachers, so I was holding signs on union picket lines when I was a toddler. I’m a pragmatic abolitionist who believes in decriminalizing the lives of regular folks and keeping the government out of our private business.
Today, U.S. politics are a nightmare I’ve been warning about for most of my life. I can no longer fight solely as a keyboard warrior and a single face in the crowds of protests our national press often ignores. My skills and experience can be more productive in official public service, if you’ll have me.
You’ll also find me walking around our city with my little family — my wife and dogs. Grabbing brunch at Doyle Street Cafe, coffee at Black Diamond, dinner at Public Market, drinks at Honor Bar, and movies at Bay Street. If you’re kind and respectful of personal space and time, you’re welcome to say hi and ask me questions! I’m somewhat introverted, but I’ll do my best!
I’ve had this website since I was a teenager in the 90’s. There’s some embarrassing sh*t here. Feel free to dig in — my closet door is wide open and my skeletons are sun-bleached.
